Clapham and Sheridan back fit but Markham, Sherman, Smith and Hewitt still on injury list……….Sedge welcomed Danny Clapham and Craig Sheridan back to the squad recently, recovered from injury but Andy Markham (Knee), Luke Sherman (Foot), Joe Hewitt (Knee) and Paul Smith (Ankle) are still on the injury list, as Sedge’s squad is tested. Smith and Hewitt and also Jordan Maltas (Knee) should all be back training shortly, as Steve Newton’s strategy of keeping all of the squad playing in competitive games is backed up. The cold spell of weather will have helped players recover but the team is now in need of a match on Saturday to keep up the momentum, after games with Winterton away and Shirebrook at home have been scuppered.

The Christmas Raffle prizes have been drawn during a successful Supporters and Club Evening at Clayborn…………17 prizes, including £100 cash, a Christmas Hamper, a DVD Player donated by CIBA, a night for a couple at the Holiday Inn-Leeds Bradford and more were drawn in the Annual Christmas draw after a great day and evening at the club, in which one of the club’s sponsors ATA Builders and Plumbers, who were enjoying their Annual Christmas party, Sedge supporters, players and officials were in attendance at Clayborn for a Supporters Evening. The evening went well, with more to come in the future. The only shame was the postponement of the match against Shirebrook Town in the afternoon.

Holder of the “Most expensive player in England” tag in 1979, Steve Daley is confirmed as guest speaker for Liversedge FC’s Sportsmans Dinner………... The venue is Cleckheaton Sports Club on Friday 28th March, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets will be on sale shortly for £30 per head, with seating scheduled to be in tables of 10 people. Liversedge FC’s Management, committee, supporters and business guests will be present for what will be another great evening, with good food, good humour and goodwill, hopefully raising some much needed funds for our push towards the first class facilities needed to progress up the football pyramid. The guest speaker has been confirmed as former Wolves, Man City and England midfielder Steve Daley, an accomplished after dinner speaker with some great stories, including some experience on the town with George Best! There will also be a comedian, so bring your notepads so you can remember the jokes!
